I find cats to be fascinating. I've only owned three of them in my life. I've already lost two of them to disease and I'm working hard to keep Gandalf alive and safe.
Over the nearly eight years I've been a kitty daddy, I've taken hundreds of pictures and i've shared them all over Facebook and social media.
I need to do much better in e-mailing more photos of Gandalf to his previous owner.
Later today, I'm going to submit a few photos of Gandalf to Atlanta Magazine for the right for him to be on the cover of its pets issue.
I guess you could say that is my 'Pet' project for Friday.
FUN is usually a 3-letter work. If it's forced upon someone, it can turn into a 4-letter work real fast.
My intent was to take Ben out to the park here in Acworth for what I called a special breakfast. I went to McDonald's to order our meals and take them to Cauble Park. This all happened on May 22, 2015.
Once we got there, he just wanted to run around the playground and onto the grass. When I tried to sit him down, he pitched a fit. I got frustrated with him because I could not get him to behave the way I wanted him to.
Once he agreed to eat a piece of my chicken biscuit, he felt better and got to run around the park. Later on, he got a free juice box and some time on the swing. We had fun once he was on the swing chillin' and sucking his thumb.
Ben was having fun on his terms. I was there for the ride. He got to run around the playground, in our home, and climb up on things the way he saw fit.
I read up on three websites. One that will be most memorable to me will be kidandcoe.com. This will give me a chance to see what vacation spots are appropriate for my family.
I remember my two motel visits with my wife and Ben in Iowa and Oklahoma. It got pretty tight in each room.
Now that I'm expecting my second child, there will be four of us in the family. I have dreams of taking my family to Walt Disney World. I would like to take my family no vacation in style. We would want some space for all of us to get around while we relax.
I can't wait to see how my boys react when they will learn that they are going to Disney World one day. They will get all the creature comforts they deserve along the way.
I remember the first time I ever rode a bike without training wheels. I did it at night at Frank Vale's house outside of Tulsa. I did it at night out of all the times I possibly could. It was very brave of me to try. Something being in Oklahoma brought out the best of me.
Once I got going, I didn't want to stop. However, reality that was my life reared it ugly head on me. My dad put the brakes on my desire to ride a bike.
My dad and I lived in a crappy little trailer in Escondido, California. It was behind Darla's Hair House in the back yard. It was filled with 'stickers' and things that could hurt us on the ground. Later on, we moved our trailer to the old Escondido R.V. Center.
Once I got out to ride my bike, I unknowingly ran over some stickers. That caused both my tires to go flat. I had to beg and plead other kids to ride their bikes, and they said no. I don't think that kids liked me much as a kid anyway.
The 30-year anniversary of my initial bike ride is special; the trailer is not.
