My nights get better when I leave work and come home. I get the mail, turn on the TV, and watch Gandalf come at me. I sit with him, he gets on my lap, and we watch TV together. Specifically, we watch something prerecorded on our DirecTV DVR.
In the morning, I have to be ready to wake up. Either the alarms go off or Blake says things and that would get me going.
Speaking of which, time to go nite nite.
I woke up this morning twice, and once for good at 7:50am. My wife made Ben's milk instead of me. I'll get to go do that tomorrow.
Ben wasn't feeling his usual happy healthy self. I should have sensed that early in the day, but he was having a good time playing with the light switches while using his stool. He did that so much I didn't realize what was happening in front of me.
I took Ben to preschool as I usually do and I ran a couple of errands at the RaceTrac and Walgreens before coming home.
After I got home, I got a chance to play with Blake both on the floor and on the couch. We got to catch up on some Special Agent Oso along the way too. He's good at handling the rings and Neddy Bear.
I got a phone call from one of my bosses asking me why a video that I allegedly cut did not have a picture of a car on it. After I did some digging, I found that I did NOT edit that said video. I'm getting frustrated with always having to try to defend myself about work.
I hate this job right now. I feel like I have nowhere else to go when it comes to work. I'm stuck.
I have to stay on and tolerate it as long as I have Ben and Blake to take care of during the morning.
I'm beat and I'm ready to go home. This sucks. I can't wait to go to bed. But first, I have to bring back the big garbage can or else the Homeowners Association will tell on me.
My dreams asleeep, where I've gone, what I've done, and my sports and video moments.

Journal Entry for February 10, 2016
Happy Wednesday. I finally woke up at 7:40 this morning. Blake was still asleep and that gave me a chance to get Ben some milk and some quality time with Ben.
I gave Ben his stool so that he could play some turn on and off the lights. I let him do that for a while before I had to take the stool away. I didn't want him to play with the light switch the entire time.
I still have to give it to Ben. He's happy as can be when he gets to play with the switch. Anytime I get a chance to see him smile is a great day for me.
DVR FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
I got a chance to watch some "Special Agent Oso", "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse", and some "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood" with the guys. I think I got more out of it then the kids did.
FOOD AND FUN
I got to feed the boys at the same time twice today, a new record for me. I gave Blake his bottle while I got Ben some Golden Grahams and fruit. For Lunch, I fed Ben some microwaved Chicken Nuggets and crackers (and teddy grahams for dessert) while I fed Blake some Banana baby food.
After lunch, I fed Blake a bottle while I gave Ben his milk during dessert. Ben was good for letting me change his diapers and putting him down for his nap.
Blake took a great nap after his mid-morning feeding.
I would not go on to sleep as I had to get us all ready for the day. The biggest thing I had to worry about was getting the boys warm enough for the wind chill that was to come this afternoon. I think I did good there.
MISCELLANEOUS
I mailed my mom her Valentine's Day card at the post office today. I hope she gets it by Saturday in time for Valentine's Day.
I went to McDonald's for a 20 piece Chicken McNuggets and a Coke Zero before heading into work. They gave me the protein I needed to get through a hard day.
SUNS
On a down note, my Phoenix Suns are disintegrating right before my eyes. I told you many times ago that they need to get rid of Markieff Morris. Here's further proof.

EDITING
It's hard editing the 11PM show and being at the top of my game. I feel like I aged 10 years tonight.
I'm going home to recover. I'll be back for more tomorrow.

Journal Entry for February 9, 2016
Today was a good morning. I woke up in the middle of a dream that I now don't remember.
I woke up to see no Blake sleeping next to me in his pack and play. Both our boys slept so well all night long. I could not believe it. That is a rarity in the Irwin home my friends.
I got a break by not having to make the milk for Ben today. I'll get to do that tomorrow. I can't wait to be up by 7:20am to get ready for the boys and Gandalf P. Cat.
I had the pleasure taking Ben to preschool earlier this morning. After that, I captured two videos of snow in both Kennesaw, Georgia and Acworth, Georgia. See the videos below.
Both of those videos would go on to air on my station, CBS46 at different times throughout the day.
My friend Steve Davidson saw the Acworth video during a winter weather alert during "The Price is Right."
I held Blake in my arms so that he would go to sleep. He slept in my arms and I sat with him. I would go on to sleep in the rocking chair with him.
I got to have some "daddy time" with Blake by holding him, sitting down and playing rings with him, hugging him a lot, and wiping his nose when I had to. He spit up on me a lot. He torched one of my favorite sweaters. I felt worse for him than I did for me because I don't want to see him suffer or be sad.
I left home just before 2pm and got here to work late.
On the way to work here at CBS46, I saw windy snow while I was commuting down I-75 SB towards Atlanta. I believe the snow cut off at Windy Hill Road just before I crossed into "The Perimeter" (I-285).
I had no trouble getting to work (driving wise). Tonight, leaving to go home is another story. We'll soon see.
I deleted some videos from our server and I'm still below 4 TB of free space here on AVID. I'm soon gonna be worried that we could crash the server if we run out of space.
Time for me to go now. I'll be back for more tomorrow.

Journal Entry for February 8, 2016
The easiest part of my day was waking up at 7:30 am and getting my son Ben's milk ready for the morning. I even had enough time to back my car out and position it into the middle of the garage to get my boys into the car for daycare later on.
I got to see Ben play with the lights in the living room, and he used the stool to prop himself up.
He said "Eight" and "Turn off the Light" clear as a bell.
Ben wore his #11 Julio Jones Falcons Jersey that I got him on Saturday. It was the best shirt I got him yet.
I fed Blake Bananas (naners) and Ben some Chicken and Blueberries for lunch. I was feeling good by getting him to bed and getting Blake fed before noon.
The hardest parts were getting me ready for work, Ben and Blake dressed and ready for daycare.
I barely made it to work on time with a couple of minutes to spare.
I had some hits and misses in editing, and I saw the Atlanta Hawks blow a big lead and lose to the Orlando Magic in overtime.

This past Thursday, I had a vasectomy. That firmed up my decision not to have more than two children (which I have now). Before that, I got some valium to calm me down and make me high as a kite afterward.
Later that day, I said goodbye to Ben as he got to go to Grandma's house for a long weekend. Ben gave me a chance to relax and rest up for the upcoming week.
On Friday, I got to take Blake to daycare and have a rare lunch with just my wife shortly thereafter. We had wings out at Lulu's Firewater Grill in Acworth, and it was glorious.
Later that night, we enjoyed some "Little Caesars Pizza" and some 'beverages.' I can honestly say the pepperoni pizza was not bad for $5. I was pleased.
We tried for two nights to watch the Netflix DVD "It's Kind of a Funny Story" before the DVD kept skipping and making loud random noises. They were so annoying.
Saturday was a lot of running around in and out of the house. The hardest part of it all was keeping Blake happy and keep him from crying a lot. I felt bad for him because he's not used to being restrained in a car seat for so long. I know that I would make a poor seat belt for baby Blake.
Sunday was big. We got to get our Ben back after his grandma had fun with him for the past three days. I missed him and I love seeing him say things and even turn on the lights.
Ben had a bit of a tantrum at the Shoney's in Central Georgia. I tried to keep him happy by feeding him some fresh fried chicken.
The proudest moment of my weekend is feeding Blake some real food for the very first time. I ended up giving Blake three fingers full of mashed potatoes. He loved them. I called them 'mashed taters'. He ate them up as did his daddy.
What can I say, I love my starches.
We had a great time at the super bowl party my family attended. I achieved some firsts in a super bowl party: feeding a baby some baby food, drank a juice box, took my two sons to a party, and played referee to my boys at a super bowl party.
The boys were getting tired and we all went home at halftime. I had a great time with my family and I hope to do it again at another super bowl party as soon as next year.

Journal Entry for February 3, 2016
I overslept by way too much for me this morning.
I got up just after 8:45 AM, and I had to make a mad dash just to get Ben's bottle ready and then I had to wake up Blake right after that. I have been used to waking up at 7:45 each and every morning for a long time. I did so at the service of my two sons. I love it.
We caught up on some cartoons and some soap opera action on TV.
I made Ben a pretty good breakfast with Sausage, Golden Grahams, and some Blueberries. He ate most of it. I was able to fed Ben solo after I fed Blake his bottle of milk. They were well fed for a long time until mid-morning.
I made Ben a special lunch. He ate Chicken and waffles. I gave Blake Sweet Potatoes. I called them "sweet taters." I had the utmost honor of feeding my babies. I love it!!!
Again the hardest part of my day is getting all of us ready to go to daycare and work (and keeping Gandalf away from the door) as well as saying goodbye to them. I miss them even as I type this up.
In getting ready for the 11PM newscast for tonight, I've been watching part one of "Madoff" on ABC, Hawks Basketball, and Fox 5 News while I've been editing videos. Richard Dreyfuss played the hell out of Bernard Madoff. He even looks the part too.
I'm gonna beat this cough and get my vasectomy tomorrow. I'm happy and content with two sons as part of my family. I don't think I can handle any more at this time (or any other time).
Tomorrow is gonna be big as I get this vasectomy done. I also pray for my friend Doug Braxton has he has a major procedure coming up tomorrow. Godspeed Doug. Godspeed.

It's been a tough day all around for me. I see my beautiful wife struggling to get Blake to go to sleep. I did worse by not being able to rock Blake to bed. He was supposed to go to sleep into my arms then into the pack and play. I failed him on that end.
I got up to get Ben some breakfast and get him dressed for his big day at preschool. I held Blake and kept him happy while my wife worked from home. I did good there for the good of my family.
I even got to see Blake be happy. He was chasing my iPhone, some toys, and my finger to bite on.
We conked out afterward.
I got off to a late start in getting Ben out of preschool for the day and for us to get back home so that I could go to work work on time. I got to work late again this afternoon.
I still cannot shake my cough and cold that I've had for the past week. I sound like death walking around with my cough.
I suffered yet another letdown this afternoon. I got passed over for a possible job opportunity with CNN. I got the standard HR form letter saying they were pursuing other candidates for the position of associate digital producer for CNN.com.
Once again, I did not show that I was worth more than I am here at CBS46. It looks as if I need to be here until my vacation through early June. I'm also doing it for the good of my family in the meantime.
I have to go now. I must press forward in getting the 11PM show edited for tonight.

Journal Entry for February 1, 2016
This weekend was rather exciting and interesting.
The fun parts were where my family and I went out to eat over at Mellow Mushroom Pizza in Acworth on Saturday and went to church on Sunday.
The interesting part was where Ben had a massive meltdown in me getting him into his car seat as we were leaving Mellow Mushroom and the church. Whoo-Whee, Benjamin Lee was quite mad at me.
Ben and the whole family got to go outside and play at the playground near the house. Ben had no fear whatsoever in sliding down some of the biggest slides the park had.
I had tears of joy in my eyes seeing my boy go on the slide. He and I both said wheeeeee!!!!!!!!!! He said wheeeee more than I did. I slid down the pretty big slide one time, and I was scared that I wasn't gonna make it out on the other end.
Ben had a lot of fun running around and taking me around the grounds of the playground near Lake Acworth. I love to get around with Ben. It reminded me of the good old days before Blake was born.
I think Blake got some quality outside time even though he was cooped up inside his car seat.
This morning, I woke up to a happy, squeaky, and squirmy Blake next to me. I also woke up to the news that my Phoenix Suns fired Head Coach Jeff Hornacek.

I feel sorry for Hornacek. He didn't have a lot to work with down the stretch with the Suns near the end of his tenure. At the same time, I think he got paroled from the old Purple Palace in the end.
I worried about Ben again as he verbally threw down and bit me a couple of times as he was not allowed to go outside out the garage. Kelly and Blake went to Blake's doctor's appointment while Ben didn't have to go. Ben wanted to go, and we had to hold him down in order for him not to escape.
I came up with the perfect solution. Ben and I had some outside time in the backyard. I kicked the soccer ball, then Ben and I played bubbles. I blew all the bubbles while Ben dipped the sticks into the bubble container. He said bubbles a lot. I blew some high quality bubbles that Ben would be proud of. Ben will one day learn how to blow bubbles.
I spent time eating lunch with Ben and my entire family at home. We got to share chicken tenders, chips, fruit. We ran out of room for some cookies before we had to get ourselves ready.
I had to get ready for work while Ben and Blake had to get ready for naptime. My wife did her best to get some work done for her job. She got to work from home today.

Scary, Scary dream I had this morning
There's nothing worse than losing a child. There's also nothing worse than either misplacing your child or one having it taken away from you.
My dream had me back at CNN. This time, I took my infant son Blake with me to work. I went to work at CNN for the first time in forever. Before I started my new editing shift, I decided to get some food and drink at the newly built Einstein Bros. Bagels on the 5th floor. I got a coke and a bagel.
For some reason in the dream, I executed this bad idea of leaving my son in his car seat across the walkway, a good ways away from where I was getting my food. Blake was left all by himself and I had a ton of crap in one hand and my food and drink in another hand. I could see the soda fountain right in front of my face as I was getting ready to start my day.
Not even moments before I could get to work, I discovered the horror that I created. My son was gone. Blake went missing. I don't know who would have taken my baby away from me. I was sad. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know who to call. I couldn't have told any of my family because I would have had to admit a huge, potentially fatal mistake I made.
I was scared that something really, really bad happened to Blake. Had it happened, I could never live with myself again. I would never ever live again. Period. Ever.
In reality, I thankfully woke up and saw my baby Blake sleeping near me in his little pack and play.
He actually woke up (probably before I did). Thankfully I could hear his squirming and squeaking as I was trying to get myself up and awake.
