I got some good news to get me going this morning. I had an appointment for a play date. I had to wake up early this morning despite putting myself in a bad position by only getting five hours of sleep the night before. I finished watching an ABC show on the old DVR before calling it a night. Blake was the boy who woke me up and got me going. Thankfully he had only a wet diaper that I needed to change on him. Soon after, I gotten him a bottle to drink and some baby shows to watch on TV. I snuck in some CNN on us as well.
Ben, Blake, and I arrived at Beethan's house right after 10AM. I didn't realize that the house was right on the corner of the street once you turn on to it. I had to do a 3 point turnaround in order to get to the house I needed to go to. The neighborhood this was at is way better than my neighborhood. I have to remember not to compare other people's things to my things. If I do, I will be guilty of being jealous and envious. I have to learn to be thankful for what my family and I do have.
We have arrived to our destination, my first play age as a father by myself. We got comfortable sitting in the shade part of the porch. Ben had to explore the inside of his newest house. He was good not trying to turn the lights on and off. He got better being at someone else's house on this day.
Ben got comfortable playing with some of the toys at Beethan's. I started playing too. I spent most of my time holding Blake and making sure he was safe. The other moms were there for their kids. I think the other parents got a kick out of Baby Blake. I really hope Ben had some fun and that I we paying him some attention.
The hardest part of my day was getting the guys into the car, and into a hot car with a malfunctioned air conditioner inside. I hosed both boys and myself down on our heads after letting the car run for about 10 minutes. I hoped that the car cooled off some on the inside before I fastened them in their respective car seats. Ben was getting mad because he didn't want to get in the car seat and I had to bribe him with his record-setting 3rd juice box of the day. Blake was relatively easier for me to put him in his car seat. After I said goodbye to Beethan's family, we left to go back home. After I got back home, I spent some time reading and getting ready for my day for work at CBS46.
I don't remember anything remarkable that happened to me at work. All I know is that I escaped unharmed and ready to head out the door for the weekend.
