     A GEORGIA MAS IS ACCUSED OF BITING AN OFFICER INSIDE A CONNECTICUT HOSPITAL.

     DAVID HORNER OF DOUGLASVILLE IS CHARGED WITH ASSAULT.
     POLICE SAY IT HAPPENED EARLY THIS MORNING WHEN DOCTORS TRIED TO CALM HORNER DOWN.
     IN THE PROCESS, ONE OF THE DOCTORS ALSO SUFFERED A BITE ON HIS RIGHT ARM.
     HORER WILL GO BACK TO COURT ON MAY 12TH.

     A WILD POLICE CHASE FINALLY ENDED NEAR THE NEVADA BORDER.

     THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL CLOSED EXITS NORTH OF VICTORVILLE TO PULL THE DRIVER OVER.
    OUR NEWS HELICOPTER HAD TO BREAK AWAY FROM THE CHASE TO GET FUEL BACK IN THE CHOPPER TO BE ABLE TO FLY AGAIN.
     THE DRIVER WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY BY FOUR P-M.

     THE DRIVER IN A FATAL CRASH ON THE 210 THIS PAST FRIDAY HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED.

     JORGE JUIS GARCIA DIED WHEN HE DROVE OFF THE FREEWAY AND BARRELED ONTO TRAFFIC DOWN BELOW.

     THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL WHEN HE COUGHED AND MOVED SIDEWAYS.
     HE ROLLED DOWN THE EMBANKMENT SOON AFTER.
     GARCIA CRASHED INTO AN S-U-V AND INTO ANOTHER CAR IN PACOIMA AT FOOTHILL BOULEVARD AND PAXTON STREET.

     IN OHIO, TAFFIC WAS MOO-VING, JUST NOT MOVING.
     THE OHIO STATE HIGHWAY PATROL WORKED TO ROUND UP LOOSE CATTLE NEAR YOUNGSTOWN.
     THAT HAPPENED AFTER A TRACTOR TRAILER CARRYING THE ANIMALS WENT OFF THE ROAD NEAR A MAJOR FREEWAY INTERCHANGE.
     OFFICIALS REOPENED I-80 AFTER CREWS CLEARED THE ROAD.

     IT ALL BEGAN WHEN SOMEONE STOLE A B-M-W IN ESCONDIDO AND TOOK OFF ON I-15.

     THE MAN TOOK THE HIGH SPEED CHASE INTO RIVERSIDE AND SAN BERNARDINO COUNTIES.
     THE DRIVER GOT AWAY FROM OFFICERS AND DROVE AT LEAST 80 MILES AN HOUR ON SOME STRETCHES OF THE FREEWAY.
     NEWS HELICOPTERS HAD TO STOP AND REFUEL BEFORE THE CHASE CAME TO AN END.
     THAT DRIVER IS NOW IN CUSTODY.

     THE DRIVER WHO DIED IN A CRASH OFF THE 210 FREEWAY ON FRIDAY HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS JORGE LUIS GARCIA.
     HE CRASHED INTO AN S-U-V AND INTO ANOTHER CAR IN PACOIMA AT FOOTHILL BOULEVARD AND PAXTON STREET.
     GARCIA LOST CONTROL WHEN HE COUGHED ON THE 210 AND ROLLED HIS TRUCK DOWN AN EMBANKMENT.
     HE DIED WHEN HE DROVE OFF THE FREEWAY AND BARRELED ONTO TRAFFIC DOWN BELOW.

     SWEDISH AUTOMAKER VOLVO IS DOWN TO TWO SOUTHER STATES FOR ITS NEW HALF-A-BILLION DOLLAR FACTORY.
     SOURCES FAMILIAR TO THE SITUATION SAY SOUTH CAROLINA AND GEORGIA ARE THE FRONT-RUNNERS FOR THE PLANT.
     VOLVO OFFICIALS HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT SITES NEAR CHARLESTON SOUTH CAROLINA AND THE SOUTH GEORGIA COAST NEAR BRUNSWICK.
     OFFICIALS ARE EXPECTED TO MAKE A DECISION IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.

   AN ACTIVE-DUTY ARMY SOLDIER IS DEAD TONIGHT AFTER TRYING TO CROSS A BUSY SAN DIEGO FREEWAY.

     30-YEAR-OLD JAMES MICHAEL GINAS THE THIRD AND ANOTHER PEDESTRIAN TRIED TO WALK ON THE NORTHBOUND LANES OF THE 163 FREEWAY NEAR FRIARS ROAD.
     A CAR HIT GINAS AROUND 12-30 A-M ON SATURDAY.
     HE DIED FROM BLUNT FORCE TRAMA AT THE SCENE.
     THE DRIVER WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL WITH MINOR INJURIES.
     THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL IS INVESTIGATING THE INCIDENT.

   A TRUCK DRIVER GETS SOME PRISON TIME FOR HIS PART IN A FATAL CRASH LAST YEAR.

     RENATO VELASQUEZ IS SENTENCES TO THREE YEARS IN PRISON FOR DRIVING WHILE TIRED

      AND CAUSING A CRASH ON I-88 THAT KILLED A REAGAN MEMORIAL TOLLWAY WORKER.
     A JUDGE FOUND THE DRIVER GUILTY OF OPERATING A COMMERCIAL VEHICLE IN A FATIGUED STATE AND TWO COUNTS OF WORKING EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME.
     VELASQUEZ HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR 36 HOURS BEFORE THE CRASH.
     HE MUST SERVE AT LEAST HALF HIS SENTENCE BEFORE BECOMING ELIGIBLE FOR PAROLE.

     THE CITY OF BAKER IS THE SETTING FOR THE CONCLUSION OF A DRAMATIC HIGH SPEED CHASE IN THE SOUTHLAND.
     POLICE ARRESTED 47-YEAR-OLD CHARLES WILLIAMS ON CHARGES OF STEALING A CAR AND EVADING POLICE OFFICERS AMONG OTHER CHARGES.
     IT ALL STARTED WHEN HE ALLEGEDLY TOOK THE B-M-W FROM ESCONDIDO AND LED POLICE ON I-15 THROUGH RIVERSIDE AND SAN BERNARDINO COUNTIES TOWARDS LAS VEGAS.
     HE SURRENDERED WITH INCIDENT AND IS NOW IN CUSTODY.
