My draft lottery dreams don't come true

In order to win, you have to lose.  Sometimes you have to lose big.  The 2016-17 didn't lose big very often, but they lost a lot (59 games to be exact).

My Phoenix Suns had a 20% chance to secure the top pick in this year's NBA Draft.  My Suns had the NBA's 2nd worst record.  That alone should have given me hope that we would get a high impact player that could help get my team out of a franchise worst seven-year playoff drought.

Even during the "drug years" of the 80's, the suns were out only 3 straight seasons.  And before the miracle run to the NBA finals in 1976, the Suns missed out on the post season for five years.

I even texted a friend of mine who is a Phoenix Suns TV producer that I hope we get a high draft pick.  He prayed back to me in a return text.  As I went to bed on Tuesday Night, I had to miss the draft lottery as it was happening LIVE on ESPN.

In the end, I'm glad I missed it.  When I woke up at 1AM on Wednesday, CURSES!!!!!  I see that the Suns only got the 4th pick in the NBA draft.  FOURTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  GEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To make things worse, the Suns' most bitter rival, the Los Angeles Lakers, got the 2nd overall pick.  I guess Lonzo Ball is making daddy Lavar happy by going to LA (which is what I think will happen).

The Boston Celtics, who are in the Eastern Conference Finals, got the TOP overall pick thanks to the Brooklyn Nets (and the draft lottery gods).

You can't convince me that the NBA doesn't have the fix going on for the bluebloods like the Lakers and Celtics.  The Suns being a 2nd tier team don't get the big breaks like the more established teams do.

I'm just frustrated that my Suns can't catch a break and that they're gonna be stuck either in last place or mediocrity for years to come.  It makes my Arizona Coyotes seem more hopeful than my Suns.

I hope me and my fellow fans can overcome this bad luck and get back on the winning track starting next season.
