Journal Entry for the weekend of March 5, 2016

Saturday, March 5, 2016 was Kelly's birthday.  It was surely a day to celebrate.  It turns out we celebrated two birthdays on this day, Kelly's and Ben's classmate Caroline from Preschool.  Before we left for Caroline's party, he said her name multiple times.  Before we went to the party, we were feeling good about ourselves and feeling good about going to parties with my family.

Below, you'll see Ben having a good ole time bouncing in the bouncy castle and running around.  That marked the first time he ever set foot inside a bouncy castle.  I felt really good about that.  See the picture and video below.  Believe me.

Things went wrong after I tried to get Ben to eat with the rest of the party inside the hosts' home.  Ben would only drink his sippy cup.  He did not eat Cake, pizza, or popcorn.  All he wanted to do was play with the lights and the fan.  He managed to get his dirty feet on the couches that were not ours.

Ben got mad at me when I tried to get him to behave or pick him up.  I had trouble answering a six-year-old's question as to why Ben was mad.  I mean, I didn't have an answer for her.  I told her that Ben was mad because he wasn't getting his way.  Eventually I let him pull the lever on one of the lamps in the living room.

Things went from bad to worse.  I should have known I was in for it when Ben would not eat cake if I tried to shove it down his throat.  I mean I could not give it away.  Shortly thereafter, he showed his red-faced butt too many time, we had to leave that party and go home.

It got better:  Kelly and I celebrated her birthday with some friends at Bahama Breeze in Kennesaw, and later we played video games at Brunswick Zone XXL in Kennesaw.  I failed at Candy Crush Saga, but I excelled at Ms. Pac Man.  My hand hurt playing the the joystick for so long.

We had so much fun, and I wish I got some pics of the arcade.  Those are our friends Jim and Felicia.  We are invited to their wedding in October.  I can't wait to have a great time with them (not only at the wedding but whenever we have some free time).

Sunday was just as fun.  The whole family (including Kelly's mom) got to out to eat at Copeland's in Kennesaw for the Brunch Buffet.  Ben and Blake had a ton of yummies. I dined on some Prime Rib, Chicken, and I had a glorious omelette to close out the meal.

My eyes were getting bigger as my stomach was getting smaller (and fuller).  This masterpiece filled with tomatoes, bacon, chicken, mushrooms, and cheese was something I was no match for in the end.
I got one final bite in before taking off for good.

Ben, I tell you what, he found a switch for the lights and a fire alarm before I ever did.  Thankfully he was distracted by the deliciousness of the food we gave him.  He ate two whole sausages among the prime rib, french toast, macaroni and cheese to keep him satisfied.  He made up for lost time from Saturday on Sunday.

We closed out the weekend by emptying out our storage unit so that we could get out from under that payment by the middle of the month.  We will have one less bill soon.  It will be glorious!!!!!
