COBB COUNTY'S REPUTATION FOR BEING MOSTLY WHITE EXTENDS TO THEIR POLITICAL LEADERS.

AN OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF OFFICIALS IN LOCAL, COUNTY, AND STATE GOVERNMENT FROM THE COUNTY ARE WHITE.

THERE HAS BEEN SOME IMPROVEMENT IN DIVERSIFYING POSITIONS FROM CITY HALL ALL THE WAY TO THE STATE CAPITOL.

15 NON-WHITE OFFICIALS HOLD POSTS IN GOVERNMENT, UP FROM JUST FOUR IN 2000.

COBB'S DEMOGRAPHICS ARE DIVERSIFYING, AND THERE ARE MORE SIGN OF CHANGE IN THE FUTURE POLITICAL LANDSCAPE.

MARIETTA CITY SCHOOLS AND COBB COUNTY SCHOOLS HAVE A MAJORITY-MINORITY ENROLLMENT.

GRATEFUL DEAD BASSIST PHIL LESH SAYS HE HAS BLADDER CANCER.

THE 75-YEAR-OLD ANNOUNCED HIS ILLNESS ON FACEBOOK ON FRIDAY.

HE GOT DIAGNOSED EARLIER THIS MONTH AND IS NOW GOING THROUGH EARLY TESTS AT THE MAYO CLINIC IN SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA.
