THE LOS ANGELES LAKERS HIT A NEW SEASON HIGH IN SCORING AS THEY ROUTED THE PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS 140-104.  BYRON SCOTT SCORED A GAME HIGH 31 AND MAGIC JOHNSON DISHED OUT A GAME HIGH 18 ASSISTS IN PORTLAND.  LAKERS IMPROVE TO 23-6 AND THEY HOST THE PHOENIX SUNS AT THE FORUM ON FRIDAY.


THE LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS WILL TAKE ON THE INDIANA PACERS IN INDIANAPOLIS TOMORROW AFTERNOON.


EIGHT OTHER GAMES ARE ALSO ON TAP IN THE N-B-A TOMORROW.


AUBURN BEAT U-S-C IN THE CITRUS BOWL 16-7, MARKING THE END OF THE TED TOLLNER EAR.  THE TROJANS ARE SET TO HIRE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA HEAD COACH LARRY SMITH TO BE THE SCHOOL'S NEXT HEAD COACH.  U-S-C IS SET TO MAKE AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT AS EARLY AS THIS WEEKEND.


AT THE ROSE BOWL IN PASADENA, ARIZONA STATE CAME FROM BEHIND TO BEAT MICHIGAN 22-15.  THE SUN DEVILS CAPTURE THEIR FIRST ROSE BOWL TROPHY IN THEIR FIRST NEW YEAR'S DAY TRIP TO PASADENA.


OHIO STATE BEAT TEXAS A&M 28-12 IN THE COTTON BOWL


OKLAHOMA ROUTED ARKANSAS 42-8


NEBRASKA DOUBLED UP L-S-U 30-15 IN THE SUGAR BOWL.


UNDEFEATED AND NUMBER ONE MIAMI WILL BATTLE UNDEFEATED AND NUMBER TWO PENN STATE IN THE SUNKIST FIESTA BOWL TOMORROW NIGHT.  THE WINNER OF THE GAME AT SUN DEVIL STADIUM IN TEMPE, ARIZONA WILL GO ON TO WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.



AND THE LOS ANGELES KINGS WILL TAKE ON THE VANCOUVER CANUCKS TOMORROW NIGHT IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST.
